How cool, we did 2 x 30 min sets at this event. Lugged home a paper bag full of groceries (oyster sauce, oil, rice!!, coke, brand's essence and of course, a reader's digest mag)
The sound was terrible. We were all hooked into the house system and had great difficulty hearing each other. As what Erica said, we really had to play with faith. I couldn't hear well and kind screwed up my 'Wave' entrance. Played real sloooowww in the first set. But that's what they wanted anyway. Light, background music.
Somehow the 2nd set sounded much better. Guess we got a bit used to it. Frankly, despite how horrible the conditions are, it's a welcome challenge for me to sing in conditions like these. I feel that being able to adapt and handle such problematic venues just makes you a better musician. Imagine what you'd sound like when all the elements (technical ones, that is) are aligned in your favour.
This has been/will be a crazy week. Monday - team dinner at Gunther's that ended at 12. Tues - this thing. Wed - JP morgan corporate run (whee... looking to clock a PB!). Thurs - guitar. Fri - nothing... YET. Weekend, quick come, quick

and congrats on the proposal! :)
hi jon! sure I do, I sure remember you! My gosh, was it really 4 years ago? That seems like an awfully long time!
So what are you up to now? We really need to catch up man! See that you're a full-time musician now... If there's an opportunity, we should meet up and do a quick jam session. And if you are keen, we could try to work a couple of gigs together... how 'bout that? :)
I'm on facebook (tantanya@gmail.com) and my msn's unchanged (tanya_tan83@hotmail.com). HP: 9633-8601. Let's keep in touch!
p/s: you know jo too? looks like we do have a couple of friends in common!
